On a daily basis I have people compliment me on my skin. For many years, I just thought people were just being nice and trying to make conversation, but as the years have progressed my skin still gets noticed. I have surely been blessed with good skin genes, and I stay out of the sun religiously and always have. I drink a lot of water, that being said my mother has beautiful skin and with grandmother who was of swedish decent their DNA has served me well. Even still, I must take careful care of it. Good genes or not, I still make sure I treat my skin like a precious commodity. That being said I thought I would share with you my daily regiment, as well as the go to make-up products I use that compliment my sensitive skin.
First thing in the morning I wash my face with a cleanser and washcloth. Whatever cleanser you use just make sure you use a wash cloth to clean your face with. The wash cloth is crucial, it helps get the dead skin off and really cleanses your face. Personally I use Dr. Jessica Wu’s skin care products. I love her cleansers. I follow with a toner and dew cream. The toner is important because it helps to regulate and balance the Ph in your face. Make sure the toner does not have alcohol in it. Something my dermatologist told me.
I always put an SPF anti-aging cream on my face before I put my make-up on.
I also use an eye creme under my eyes. I do not use a heavy eye creme. I use a couple different ones, one for daytime and one for night time.
In the mornings I am usually in a mad rush. I don’t like to wear a lot makeup during the day nor do I want to take the time to do it, but when I do I really go for it hard. Here is my regime when I’m in that mode.
Primer
I do not use primers every day because I feel they clog my pores, but when I do use a primer, my all time favorite one is by Hourglass. It feels silk and my foundation goes on amazingly.
UNDER EYE CONCEALER
I love Bobby Brown’s duo concealer/powder. I love the lighter creme, color to go under my eyes and pat the powder on after the creme is blended in. It makes my eyes look brighter, and takes away those dark circles fast.
FOUNDATION
I love Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer with SPF 20. Its important to protect your skin. I use this as my everyday foundation, especially because it already has the SPF in it. If I’m wanting a heavier coverage for an event or night time I love Dior Star or Make Up For Ever Ultra HD. Both give me the most coverage, but still leaves me looking dewy. It feels amazing on my skin.
MASCARA
My favorite mascara is Dior. I have sensitive eyes as well as I wear contacts. I love that this does not bother my eyes and I prefer the color “Blackout” by Dior.
EYEBROW PENCIL
A good eyebrow pencil is crucial because eyebrows frame your face. I between Damone Roberts eye brow pencil and Anastasia’s brow definer. I love how easy it is to shape my brows with both pencils. Anastasia’s brow definer pencil makes it so easy to shape my brows cause its thicker and has a triangular shape to the pencil. My color is taupe.
HIGHLIGHTER
To give me that dewy look, I love the Becca shimmering skin perfector. I just use my fingers and dab a little on my cheekbones, my forehead, nose and my chin. You can put it wherever you want to highlight I just choose those areas. It highlights in a natural and youthful way.
EYE SHADOW
For eyeshadow palettes, I love anything Mac. Their shadows are beautiful, affordable, and last a long time. My thirteen year old daughter just bought me the Kyshadow the bronze palette. I’ve only recently started using it and I really like it.
BLUSH
My favorite blush is Fearless by Tarte. It looks amazing on everyone. People will ask me what blush am I wearing and when they try it they fall in love with it.
On a side note, one of the things that I also love is perfume. People stop me several times a day to tell me that I smell good. Every body chemistry is different, but gardenia seems to work well with all. My signature scent is Chanel’s Chance Eau Tendre.
