There is so much I can say about this beautiful woman, Julee Merrill. I met Julee more than 10 years ago. I remember seeing the way she spelled her name and instantly thought “this girl is cool”. I was right this girl is super cool, and in so many ways. There are so many things that I admire about her and that I respect about her as well. One of those things is her love for animals. I have never met anyone who loves and cares about the well being of animals as much as Julee does. Julee rescues animals because she wants to make sure that they are loved and cared for, and also so that they don’t get destroyed. She truly has a heart of gold.
On top of Julee’s love for animal’s, she also has always had a love for fashion too. It all made perfect sense when Julee decided to combine her love for fashion and her love for animals and she created her own company called Pawj. Pawj is a cruelty free, animal and vegan friendly boot that Julee dreamed up and has become a reality.
Julee told me about her idea about 5 years ago. I thought it was a great idea. Julee slowly started working on the boot. When you have an idea there is a lot of time, and money that goes into it. Julee did it the right way, slowly. This way she knew she would do it right. She wanted to make sure the material used was exactly what she wanted and she didn’t want to compromise on quality. I remember having conversations with her because she would be frustrated with how slow the process was and how long things were taking. But in the same breath she would say, “its fine because I want it to be right and exactly the way I envisioned it”. I truly admire her determination and realizing that she needed to be patient.
Julee has always had a good work ethic and I’ve seen it from the beginning. She is the mother of two beautiful girls who are both amazing dancers. Julee has instilled in her girls the same work ethic she has which is work hard, never give up, and always strive for excellence. I admire how Julee balances her role as an amazing mother and wife, while successfully fulfilling her passion of creating a business.
