As I sit in my cozy pajamas, sip on my tea and let down my hair at the end of this day, I can’t help but feel a blanket of humility and gratitude come over me.
I put every ounce of energy I had into my single, Leave Her Better, released on June 15, and the outpouring of love, support, and positive feedback has made it all worth it. Not going to lie; I am exhausted. But with my exhaustion comes endless love for my fans and dear supporters. Your kindness and uplifting words motivate me and fill my cup.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the words of encouragement and positivity and the stories shared about sucky breakups, complicated love, and all the other accounts you reminisced on as you listened to the lyrics in my new single.
I’ve been spending a ton of time in Nashville (as I do live there now), writing songs, collaborating with amazing artists, and also just taking the time to hear other phenomenal artists perform at some of my favorite places in Nashville, such as Whisky Jam, The Bluebird Café, The Listening Room, Tin Roof, and Live Oak. I feel at home wearing cowgirl boots in a historic cafe. I feel inspired as others share their gift of music. There is no place in the world like Nashville, Tennessee.
While in Nashville a few weeks ago, I had the enjoyable opportunity to shoot the music video for Leave Her Better alongside a fantastic production crew and outstanding actors. The creativity and talent in the room were overwhelming. We worked hard and made sure to have fun in the process, which I’m learning is an essential aspect of any career. Work hard, but don’t forget to enjoy the process. Don’t be so caught up in the result that the journey becomes a blur. Enjoy every single moment. Cherish the good and learn from the bad. Don’t hold on too tight to perfection that you forget why you’re doing the thing you love in the first place.
This is your daily reminder to do things that inspire you. Fill your schedule with the people and things that fill your cup. Then, start pouring your cup into others. Be the reason someone else is inspired. Help to fill their cup. Create a domino effect of positivity and inspiration.
